πŸ™Œ Job overview

We're fortunate to have built a product that generates thousands of signups and hundreds of new paying customers per month. Our self-serve motion has grown the company to profitability, and now we're in the early stages of layering on sales and customer success to add fuel to the fire.

When it comes to go-to-market, we're looking to work with experienced people who understand product-led growth and want to be a partner in building from the ground up. Our team is currently small (one sales lead and solutions engineer), so this is not a cookie cutter role. You will be taking ownership of a wide range of responsibilities and wearing many different hats across the customer funnel.

Being early stage with sales & customer success, we're equally focused on trying new things and learning as we are on driving revenue outcomes. We need to prove things in the lab, before we can scale and build them in the factory.

✍️ What you will be doing

  • Qualifying inbound leads

  • Managing our sales pipeline

  • Product demos (you will need to become an expert)

  • Extracting insights and feedback from customer calls and sharing them with the product team and wider company

  • Managing existing customer relationships (onboarding, product questions, renewals, regular check-ins etc)

  • Prospecting and lead generation from our free and self-serve signup pool

  • Coming up with and executing growth experiments

  • Lots more...

πŸ§‘β€πŸ’» Tech you'll be using

Previous experience not required but a bonus:

  • Hubspot (CRM)

  • Apollo (prospecting & campaigns)

  • Tableau (dashboards)

  • Slack (internal and customer comms)

  • Linear (collaboration with eng and product)

  • Stripe (subscriptions)

  • GitHub (our product is deeply integrated, you'll need to know the basics)

🫢You will be valued for

  • Your product-oriented approach You are driven by creating value for our users through education. You enjoy diving headfirst into a product and learning the ins and outs through resourcefulness. You approach customer interactions with an empathy driven mindset.

  • Your beginners mindset and ownership You don't shy away from operating in ambiguity. You're a driven self-starter who takes initiative and doesn't make assumptions that copy-pasting what worked for you in the past will work at GitBook. You operate from first principles.

  • Your teamwork and communication You understand that we win and lose as a team, and the only way to win is to operate openly and transparently. You're not afraid to speak your mind or call things out, and you're actively sharing customer insights with the rest of the company. You're able to tow the line between being a customer advocate internally, and knowing how to set expectations properly. You don't take things at surface level, and can ask the right questions to get to a root issue.

  • Your flexibility You recognize that in a startup things are rarely black and white, and are constantly changing. You bring a passion for learning and growth to the table and are eager to evolve with the company as new opportunities and challenges present themselves.

🏒 Your profile

  • 3-5 years of experience in a customer-facing role at a startup

  • Early stage experience with a track record of problem solving and building sales motions

  • Native English speaker

  • Comfortable working in a highly experimental environment
